need a fast answer...
I know this should go into the brake section but need to finalize my order and they are calling back at 4:30
I ordered a disc conversion and took the stock 11" booster, I am installing a 455 into the 69 and it will have slightly taller valve covers due to the roller rockers, should I take the 9 inch? I prefer the original look of the 11" but will do what i need to to make everything fit right,
by the way went to the right stuff they were very good.

More than likely it will clear, but its almost impossible to know until you try to install it- unless someone had the exact same valve covers as you.
Just ask them the return/swap policy if it turns out not to fit so you will be prepared.
Thats about the best i could offer...

Thanks Rambow!!
Thanks, I missed their call so I will call them tommorrow, I was just thinking that hurst olds got the "notched" valve covers, and these are definately not notched ( they are like the dick Miller/Mondello stock looking tall covers , that I might run into issues.
I might just go with the stock looking 9 " unit to be safe they say there is no difference to function? is this true?
taking my second bite on this project and it is all richards ( gearheads78) fault, eat an elephant one bite at a time LOL.... Indeed!!
anyway got the brakes decided on 4 wheel discs... I wish I had the knowledge to put a package together from various sources like you did/doing, but Mr & Mrs Hansen were not blessed with the sharpest knife in the drawer when they had me..

Mine's a 72. But, with the 455 and 3/8" spacers under the valve covers for my scorpion rockers, and the 11" booster
, I will need to unbolt and move the booster to pull the cover. Hope that helps.

The 9" booster will provide less vacuum and might make the brake pedal harder to push increasing your stopping distance. You might look at a dual chamber 9" in order to keep the vacuum about the same
Your conclusions are correct, but just to clarify, the vacuum is the same - it is produced by the engine, not the booster. The smaller booster has fewer square inches of diaphragm, so the FORCE produced by this vacuum level will be lower with the smaller booster. The dual diaphragm booster increases the area of the diaphragm by using a second one instead of a larger one, but the result is a similar reduction in pedal force.
geez,...
well I did order the 9 inch booster ( just the regular one) but I am going from 4 wheel drum to 4 wheel disc I would hope the braking distance is a little less or the same?
anyway they are on there way, wanted to do the rear set up while the rear is out of the car, went with the "right stuff" 4 disc set up. I am just hoping my 15" ralleys fit...
