So I bought a specific for my year screw kit- and I am replacing the original screws for the front turn signal lenses.
The screws in the kit are too long, and attempting to use them does not work. I tried to dremel one screw to shorten it, but it just messed up the thread.
Are the turn signal lenses held in with a plastic nut similar to what the headlights have? That is the only way I can see a longer screw working, the original screws that were there are half the length.
The lenses are held in by machine screws, they thread directly into the headlight housing. I have a headlight housing off the car if you want pictures of the housing and screws.
The rusty screw is the original, the long one is what came with the kit, and the other was my cut up one--- but when you mentioned its just a machine screw, I went out to the hardware store and found a #8-32 x 3/4 in. pack of screws that worked just fine! Thanks!
