1970 Core Support Bushing Mount

1970 Core Support Bushing Mount

Any help in determining correct installation of the core support bushing to the frame. I have the Chassis Service Manual, but I cannot find a diagram specific to the A body core support installation. Figure 11-35 and Figure 11-38 show the diagram for B-C and E bodies respectively. I am using the kit from Fusick RC662K. I currently have the square rubber sitting between the frame with the metal collar into the frame, this allows the circular busing to fit with the square bushing. See picture. I don't think i can get the square bushing with the metal collar to go up through the core support unless I use force or even open up the size of the hole. Just looking to make sure I am on the right track since so many other things attach to this support. Thanks in advance.

Yes, that looks right. Square between core support and frame ear. Round sleeve goes down with doughnut going around it inside the frame rail. If you need to shim the core support to level things put the shim between the square bushing and the core support. Bolt head above core support with nut end inside frame rail.
