Exclamation Help Needed with Sway Bar Bushings Delta88 1966

Hi Gents: Please someone advise based on the attached photo is those bushings look correct, They seem to me there is too much clearance to the chassis, or did I have to force the bracket by tightening the screws till it gets there?, Please note the screws are not yet tightened to specs (10lbs.inch) but I stopped since it doesn't look to me at that torque it will reach the chassis or become heavily deformed, Help is very much appreciated. Regards. Raul Martinez.

That looks like either the bushing is too tall or the bracket is too short. I don't think tightening that much more is correct.
Did the bushings and brackets come as a kit?

Let's see what others comment...

On my 67 Delta, all the listings for sway bar bushings were too small - 15/16" is shown in the catalogs, which is not correct. The stock bar is 1". I had to use a bushing for the 1971-up cars that was sized for a 1" bar (Moog K5253). And yes, you have to really compress the bushings to get the bolts started. The bar wants to be tight. Any looseness in the bushings results in wasted motion of the bar and lowers the effective roll stiffness.

Joe: Thanks as always, but just to be sure, should the brackets reach the chassis or should the 10lbs.ft torque be the limit?

The bracket need to by hard up against the frame, compressing the bushing.

Bushing photos

Guachobyte, did you find a resolution for this? I'm having the same issue. All bushings showing up via Rock Auto and Summit seem to be the tall version. I got the AC Delco bushings via Rock Auto and they absolutely don't fit.

Joe, the Moog part you listed looks just like the bushings I got. Are they not as tall?

Thanks for any help!

the moog ones are to tall also, I got ones that work from inline tube.
INL13145 for a 15/16 bar. only ones I could find that would work.

Jeremx: not sure they are the correct ones but I finally managed to compress them so the bracket reaches the chassis, but forget about the CSM torque specs. Best.

Based on your handle, I'm guessing you're referencing a 1966 but I wanted to be sure. What model did you end up putting these on? And any chance you have photos of them on?

These rode pretty flush so I'm trying to find something as similar as possible.
