Sway bar support bracket

The screw hole is stripped out I went up to a larger bolt to hold it up but it didn’t work. Does anyone what will be the best fix for this. I was thinking of getting cutting it out and getting welded back in. Any help would be appreciated.

You need a nutsert (also called Riv-Nut). Basically it's a large pop rivet with internal threads. Requires a special installation tool, like a big pop riveter.

I tapped the hole the next larger size w a fine thread and then after much effort was able to thread a nut onto the bolt inside the frame

Self-tapping bolts are great in this situation
