Hmm,maybe stupid question but what is the steelbar under the rear axle use for ??
Some towing device ?? The car have coils over the shock absorbers rear.
It's apparently some sort of rear axle truss rod, intended to stiffen the rear axle housing against bending. These are typically seen for off-road applications. Definitely not a factory part.
Here's one seen under a Ford truck, again not OEM.
Thanks Joe. Have not seen this on a rear axle
in a car before. There are a couple of brackets
behind rear bumper so maybe this has been used
when towing something when rear shocks have coils

I would be willing to bet the car may have seen some track time in the past.
Why? The truss rod is in the wrong place to be helpful on the track. Reinforced axle housings for drag racing have the reinforcement parallel to the ground, because that's the direction the housing bends in when you launch the car. This vertical style adds reinforcement in the vertical plane, which would be appropriate for a 4x4. I tend to agree that the rod and the coil overs likely point to a towing application. We can debate the value of that truss rod for towing, but I suspect that's why it got installed. This is a Dynamic 88 we're talking about, so not really a car you'd take to the track.
