Convertible well liner installation question

The well liner is in on my 69 Cutlass vert. There is a metal strip that attaches to the divider wall behind the rear seat and holds the front edge of the well liner in place.

This metal retainer strip has a lip at the top which seems to me should go over the top of the divider wall and face to the rear of the car. Is this correct ? The screw holes line up either way.

The top of the lip of the metal retainer strip has a slot in it which I believe is where the boot cover attaches. I'm guessing that the boot cover edge is slipped into the slot of the retainer then the retainer is attached which means the boot cover rests down in the well when the top is in the up position.

Just want to make sure that I'm putting it in right and can't find any info in the Fisher body manual.

Here's a thread from March with pictures of how the cover retainer is attached. There's also a lot of discussion about removing the cover or leaving it on.

Thanks Ken the link was perfect.

One question. On the link, your post #25 says "lay the boot cover into the well and snap the sides back on". Are we talking about the sides of the boot cover and which snaps ? My boot cover is Legendary and not yet out of the box.

After reviewing the two links I am seriously considering the Velcro option.

Yes. The snaps are located on the underside of the boot cover & attach to the side panels on each side of the rear seat as identified in the image below.
