A 1970 is a high-compression engine and may not like currently available gasoline. 71-73 are lower compression and set up for pump gas.

71-3 are basically the same car except for grille, taillights and some interior trim details. They are nice rugged cars that will carry you in style and comfort. They do tend toward thirsty.

Consider a 74-76. Little boxier styling but very like 71-3 except for a misguided change to a c-clip type rear axle in 1976. These also would have Tempmatic A/C which is much easier to live with than Comfortron while maintaining automatic temperature control.

My father; Oldsguy, owned a 76 98 when I was younger. It was the most comfortable car I've ever driven. Then again, maybe that's because I was 20 at the time.

FWIW, 71-76 98s were the biggest cars Oldsmobile ever made. I think the 73 Pontiac Grand Safari wagon has an inch or two on the Olds Custom Cruiser. Back when GM made something worth driving that wasn't an econobox...

Good luck in your search.
