Through the 1967 model year, the 4-4-2 with automatic transmission came with a beefed-up 2-speed jetaway. Starting with the 1968 model year, the automatic transmission for the 4-4-2 model came with the turbo-hydramatic 400 3-speed transmission. Somewhere along the line after that I believe starting in the 1972 model year), the 4-4-2 came with the THM 350.

If I remember correctly......1964 advertising was 4-4-2..........4 Barrel carb-4 Speed-2 (dual exhaust)
1965 advertising changed to 4-4-2.......4 Barrel carb-4 Hundred Cubes (engine)-2 (dual exhaust). And I recall the 2 speed automatic being available
So, I would expect 1966 to follow through

And of course, 64s were four speed only, except for a notorious yellow "special order" convertible...

Once again, read the factory documents like the SPECS booklet. Base trans in the 442 from 1965 to 1971 was the HD three speed with Hurst floor shifter. This was the Dearborn top loader through 1969 and the HD Muncie three speed after that. Four speeds and AT were available options. The three on the column was a rare configuration used in the 1965 model year only.

Yes it sure was. I had one and now is in Curt Anderson's collection. I know of one other 3 on the tree 442 with the Dearborn. Both were Club Coupes. I think it was the M-12 option, not sure but that's my memory.

I just checked the 1966 Inspector's Guide. It's actually RPO M13 for the column shifted HD three speed, and the guide clearly shows "mandatory and available only with L77 or L78 options if SM col shift is ordered." L78 is the 442 package and L77 is the 400 cu in police package motor for A-body cars. I stand corrected. Good catch.

Ad could be worse
I'm surprised it doesn't say "but it does have a v8 442 c.i. big block in it."
But this was helpful
" Windshield looks like it was sealed with something."
Better that than not sealed with anything

Well.....he updated the listing.
1966 Oldsmobile f85 deluxe 442This is a real 442 car not a clone. Car runs and drives. I don’t know if it has the original drivetrain but it does have a v8 400 big block in it. Has 4 barrel Holley carburetor.I don’t know much about the cars history. In the pictures you can see the cars condition. Car does have some rust showed most of it in the pictures. The floor pans don’t look to have rust on them. Has American racing aluminum wheels. Car has 88,916 original miles. I do have a clean title in hand. This car does not have a reserve so bid it to win it!Any questions feel free to give me a call 6094189770

After some further investigation I’m not sure if it’s a real 442 or if it’s a clone. Has Chevy small block in it so it is not a big block. The car is being sold as is where is. Any questions feel free to give me a call 6094189770

Of course, the lack of a 442 dash emblem, the non-442 tail lights, and a host of other problems prove that it is not real, but the VIN isn't one of those. Now, had he posted a photo of the cowl tag...
