If only I had won that lottery last week......

I had a brown 76 Salon and had TONS of fun with that car. That is one sweet looking ride.

Not sure if that is a compliment or a dis. I'll take it as a compliment because the car is really sharp and in very nice condition. You don't find 70s era cars in this condition. All owners have maintained and taken care of this car. And just in case anyone was wondering, here are some pictures in the sun.

Whoa!!! NOT a dis. Just a line from a famous singer you might remember - Gino Vanelli. He had a song called "Black Cars" which is a great tune to drive by.

The ONLY thing I don't particularly like about black for an exterior color is how hard they are to keep clean. That's why I haven't bought any more of them. Your car does look incredibly nice. Take that as a compliment!

Re: the pics in the sun?? Still nice, and you can play Terry Jacks "Seasons in the Sun" while cruising with the tops out. Although the song predates your car a couple of years, it's still cool to listen to.

My overreaction. I will have to do a search for the songs and check 'em out. Thank you for the compliment.

No sweat. Hope you can sell it for what you want. They are really nice cars to drive. Had one for a daily when I lived in Dayton. Then I got a Furd Thunderturd. What the heck it was the company's dime.

1976 Cutlass Salon

It is a very pretty car. I ordered a new '76 Cutlass Salon with a 455 back in April or May of '76. Ordered it black with gold pin stripes, black vinyl interior. Power steering, power disc brakes, guages, 6 way driver's seat, power windows, locks, electric rear defroster, positraction with 3.08 gears, power trunk release, Climate control A/C, clock, SSII cast gray wheels, White lettered tires, Sport steering wheel. Radio package, Heavy duty cooling and altenator, (which probably came with the A/C) The car came in in June and had everything except the 3.08 gears. It had 2.56 gears. I did not order T Tops or a vinyl top. If I recall right it cost about $6,200.00 out the door. I sold it in 1978 with only 17,000 mile on the clock. I should have kept it, but a '79 Trans Am is what I wanted back then. I ocassionally have dreams that I still own the car, only to wake up and realize I don't. Oh well.

1976 Cutlass Salon

I dug out some old photos of my '76 Salon. In their time, they were a classy looking Oldsmobile.

'76 Cutlass Salon

Hello Allan,
You are right. They still are classy looking Oldsmobiles. I was referring to the time when they were new. The '76 and '77 body style was a clean design.
