Nice looking car.

Not too many came w/o the vinyl top.

I came this > < close to buying an 85 just like that (except for vinyl top) @ 15 years ago.

Damn shame the guy never called me back.

Also have an '85

I also have a 1985 Toronado, but with the vinyl top. Looks like yours has a sun roof; mine doesn't. Would that come on the Calais model?

No such thing as a Toronado Calais.

Calais was the "sportier" RWD Cutlass trim from 78-84

Then in 1985 ... Calais became an all new FWD model.

At that point they resurrected the "Salon" name for what was the old RWD Calais & used it for 85-87.

The Calais name was also used on some older Caddies as well.

In regards to 79-85 Toro's ...

There was an XSC in 1980-1981 (similar concept/trim/options to a RWD Calais/Salon)

For 1984-1985 there was a Caliente which would be most similar to a Biarritz Eldorado of the same era.

Moonroof's could be had/ordered on any of the Toronado trims.

Thanks for Reply

Thanks for the info PackRat. I guess I was thinking of the Caliente but my feeble brain didn't have one of your "protecter hats" on to keep the aliens from confusing me. Great reply - very informative!
