Talking 1972 Cutlass Project A lot of work done already. $1500

I have a 1972 Cutlass. A lot of work has already been done to the car. Rebuilt corvette racing transmission, a good 350 rocket engine. New front end suspension. New shocks all the way around. All a-frame bushings, etc have been replaced. Ball joints replaced. Dual exhaust with turbos. If I added up all the labor and parts it would add up to a whole lot more than $1500. Just the transmission alone was $750.00 to rebuild and for labor to install. I have records of most of the work and parts. Mag wheels, but could use a good cleaning. It's a project and does run and drive, but still needs some love and care. Interior and exterior need some work. Passenger door has an ugly dent, but I was told by a body guy that the dent was fixable. This car has great potential to look awesome. Only $1500 for the whole car. I would ask more but it has no title. I called the DMV and they confirmed that the car is clear and good free from leins. Here's a pic of what the car looks like. I am working on getting a title, but if I do you can bet my price will go up.

I will take some interior pics. Interior is black. It has a bench seat that has just been redone. I also have a set of bucket seats that need to be redone. I may keep the bucket seats, or may sell them I don't know yet. The door panels are in decent shape just needs a good wipe down. The dash is great no cracks and no warping. The floor carpet needs to be replaced. The back seat needs to be redone also. All glass is great, no chips, no dings, no cracks. I will not accept anything lower than $1500. I am just a couple more steps away from getting a title. A paint and body guy just came by and viewed the car. He said he would be able to paint it for $1500 which includes all labor and materials. To paint it white with black stripes. My wife is trying to convince me to keep this car,but I really would like to get a trans am from year 77-81 so if anyone has one they would like to trade, email me. Something close, and something in similar condition as my cutlass. If you have the cash to buy this car, hurry because I may change my mind..... It has lots of potential to be something great.

OK...I've let this sit long enough. How does a "Corvette racing transmission" bolt up to an Oldsmobile engine? They are different bolt patterns.

The car has a 350 Chevy engine, previous owner had a shop in San Antonio install the vette tranny. At first I thought the engine in the car was the original 350 rocket, but the previous owner confirmed that the engine is a 350 chevy sb. I have recepits to show that it is truly a vette tranny.

C.J. I do recall installing a chevy TH350 behind an Olds 350. The difference in the pattern is the middle bolts. The ones between the bottom and top. (I didn't install them)

I agree with CJ that you have an Oldsmobile engine. I believe there were some later TH350's that had both Chevy and BOP bolt patterns in the housing.

The only reason I am selling the car is because I want to get my dream car. I have always wanted a Trans Am. Right now I have a pending trade for one. I wish I could afford to keep the cutlass. I will keep you guys posted on the cutlass.

well, the pending deal fell through. The guy was just a little too far. I finally got the title today. After a lot of paper work and waiting I finally got the title. Im thinking I might just end up keeping the cutlass.
