68 442 windshield mounting

Anyone know the depth of butyl tape to use when mounting the front windshield and the rear? —Billy

It might depend if your using the original glass or aftermarket. Aftermarket could be thinner than the original.

Yes, windows are already in. My rear original windshield is 1/4 thick, so I used the 5/16 butyl. My replacement front windshield from Pilkington, though they claim it’s a perfect OEM reproduction, it’s actually only 3/16 thick. So I used 3/8 butyl and it came out perfect. —Billy
