Getting wax overspray off a convertible top?

I waxed my convertible today. The buffer sprayed wax dots on my vinyl top when I damp-applied the wax.

White vinegar didn’t help much, water didn’t help much, lacquer thinner is too strong, Isopropyl alcohol didn’t help much.

What’s the best solvent that won’t dissolve my top?

thanks in advance
Chris

I use Simple Green to clean my white convertible top. Cleans just about all stains and isn’t harsh.

I use spray Oxiclean or Dawn dish soap on any car wax issues. Easy to use and of course it's water clean up.... Tedd

Cool. Guessing the dish soap will work great. Many thanks.

If none of the above work, check about using a steam machine at a detail shop. They are mostly used to clean cloth interior. Good Luck!

I have a white one and use bathroom cleaner with bleach spray on a rag and use it. Works nice
But on black do not think it would

This top is black, so I'm guessing bleach would not be a good idea.

Many thanks to you all for all the alternatives.

True bleach wouldn't be good on any canvas top no matter the color if left on for any time at all, Ever had your Levies rot out on spilled bleach spots, same thing will happen with a rag top.... Tedd

Try some painting prep Wax and Grease Remover. Try in an inconspicuous place, first
