Power Steering

My power steering pump is leaking all over the place. I'm pretty sure it is coming from the main shaft that connects to the pulley. I've been having a hell of a time getting that pulley off so far. What does it take to rebuild my pump? Is there just a few seals to replace or is there a whole rebuild kit for them? Any ideas?

It's probably easier and cheaper to buy a rebuilt power steering pump from O'Reillys. If you really want to rebuild it yourself you can probably get a rebuild kit from your local parts store or check out Kanter or Fusicks.

Actually the rebuilt is simple. I did the one in my Custom Cruiser recently. A seal kit runs about $15. The only issue is if the front seal has worn a groove in the pump shaft. If your pulley is pressed on, you need a puller to get it off.
