Wheel bearing service question 🤔

Hey all I was just wondering what the general consensus was on how often you all repack your front wheel bearings? I have a '72 Supreme with just over 106K, and the last time I repacked my bearings was Jul 2018 at 99K. I've read it should be done every 30K or every other year. If it's every other year, then I'm behind and need to get busy, but what about every 30K?

It is easy enough and cheap enough... Why not just do it now, while you have any trepidation...

Front brake pads / shoes don't last as long as a properly done bearing pack. I do it whenever I'm in there for brakes.

I haven't prepacked mine in a LONG time, maybe 15 years? Not something to be proud of, just I don't feel needs repacked that often. I agree, I would repack when doing front brake work. Boat trailers that are backed into lakes are a different story!

I don't think 7k miles, if properly packed initially, would require it to be done at this point. The old rule of thumb was at brake job intervals, 30-50k miles depending how use them.

Now that I think about it, that's when my dad and oldest brother would do it, and I installed new pads at the same time, so I'll let it be for now. Thanks everyone.

The service intervals chart in the CSM says "any time the brakes are serviced".
