Vista Cruiser Rear Brake Lines
Vista Cruiser Rear Brake Lines
I installed a 71-VC rear end in my 68-442. The preformed hard-lines from the "T" block on the differential to the wheel cylinders do not fit. The VC wheel cylinder has a different angle where the threaded fitting mates up. I called ILT tech support but they are only accepting email questions, so while I'm waiting for their response, I thought I would see if any of you could help. Beside ILT, are there any other suppliers that would have these hard lines?
The VC axle uses different wheel cylinders and different backing plates from those on other A-bodies. This is due to the use of 9.5 x 2.5 rear brakes as opposed to the 9.5 x 2.0 rear brakes used on all other A-body cars. The backing plates are "dished" more to make up for the extra 1/2" per side, so that the wheel mounting surfaces are in the same place. I've found that ILT is well versed on the 68-72 coupes, less so outside of that.
