Question need help with specs

i think this is going to be in Brakes as the problem is stopping me from getting the correct brake conversion kit. i have ordered a couple kits and to no avail the Brake Caliper Mounting Bracket does not fit past the outside diameter of the axle tube preventing the mounting bolts from lining up. outside Diameter is 3.26 inchs (circumference of 10.24 inches), and help identifying or advice will be great. anyone encounter a rear end with similar dimensions? looking at Scarebird for a brake kit but i don't want to have to get a modified E-brake cable.
what would be the chance i don't have a 70 cutlass rear end (i've discovered several screw up from the previous person who "rebuilt" this rear end).
forgive my partly senseless rambling but i am kinda at my wits end as been stopped up from driving from this issue and this issue alone. i'll answer questions as i can. thanks for help in advance

It appears that your pictures are an O-Type rear (12 bolt cover, 10 bolt ring gear) and I think that flange drawing is for an 8.2" 10 bolt rear based on the "64-70 Buick/Olds/Pontiac" description as the O-Type was used from 67-70. I do not know if they have the same bearing end dimensions.

yes the rear end is an o-type 12 bolt 10 bolt ring... the problem i have is no brake kit will fit around the 3.26 inch axle housing and others i have talked to on various facebook pages says it should fit

the bearing i have is a 2.56 in bearing

Is the axle seal attached to the axle shaft (1970 version), or is it pressed into the end of the axle tube (1967-1969 version)? I don't know if knowing the rearend year will help or not, but the two versions use a different axle bearing.

That is the 1970 design as the casting number shows, but I asked as one member here had the same 1970 housing casting number but with the early 1969-older bearings, seals, and housing ends.

The 1970 O-Type uses the same axle bearings as the 1971-up corporate 8.5" 10 bolt rears, so I would suspect the kit for those would work on the 1970 rear. Just guessing at that based on the axle bearing specs. My data shows the 1970-up Set9 axle bearing has a diameter of 2.5591" which matches the data you posted, so no idea why your bracket doesn't fit. I don't have the tube OD measurements, though.

well you've given me more info than i had before... didn't know what set bearing i had. i don't know why these kits aren't working either other than the tube OD is too big. every kit says 68-72 A-Body.

ok so new question in addition to trying to figure out what i've got lol... would a kit that is for a 2.75 bearing work for the axle that has a 2.56 bearing
