Broken Wheel Stud- Need Advice

Hi Guys,
I need to replace a broken front wheel stud on the H/O and was looking for some direction on how to separate the hub from the rotor after removing the five bolts that hold them together. Any help is greatly appreciated!

You don't need to separate the hub to replace the one stud.

The studs are what hold the hub to the rotor. Simply replace the single broken stud. Problem solved.

Thanks guys. I should have provided more detail in my opening post. This is a two piece hub and rotor, I cannot replace a wheel stud without separating them. I removed the bolts holding them together from the rear, but need a way to separate them.

One more time. The knurls on the studs are what is holding the rotor to the hub. Reinstall the bolts between the hub and the rotor and simply press out the broken stud. Separating the two requires you to press out ALL FIVE studs. Knock yourself out if you believe you must do that.

Joe,
I really appreciate your help and I'm not trying to be stubborn, but there is no way to remove or replace a wheel stud without separating the two (see pic) as the head of the stud hits the crown of the rotor. from what I can tell, the wheel stud knurls have nothing to do with holding the hub and rotor together.

In that case you will need to break loose the rust between the rotor and the back of the hub. I would suggest supporting the rotor as close to the hub as possible to prevent bending it and press on the hub where the seal sits.

Soak the crap out of it with penetrating oil for a couple hours, then follow Joe’s advice..may loosen the rust a bit

Might be able to let it sit in the sun, then dump some dust off nitrogen propellant on just the hub, then smack hub with hammer

And if you're going through all that why not replace the other 4?
I'm from the camp if you're in there do it.
Why did the one stud break? Did the others get the same stress and were stretched to (almost) yield?
Safety.
There is a good source for C of A studs.....ARP. Definitely don't cheap out here.

Not sure what caused a single break, but I am definitely replacing all five. Thanks for the feedback!
