I agree with Richard, even with the wheels turned as far as they will go the caliper shouldn't be touching the sway bar. Pictures would be very helpful if you can post them. John

OK, it got dark before I could come up with a loose one to measure. Here's some pictures of a 1972 Cutlass with the bar from a mid-1970's Trans Am on it. 1964-72 should interchange so yours should look similar to this, just not as large of diameter bar. You can see the end link bolt is pretty straight up and down and much closer to the upper ball joint bolt than the caliper. I think the one on your car is not right for your application. Tomorrow afternoon or Saturday I'll dig out a loose one and take measurements for you. John

It looks like the sway bar is pushing the end link backward or is that an optical illusion? Like the bar is too long and extends backward too much.

This is easy. The sway bar end links in the photos are too long. Get the correct shorter ones. Problem solved.

Update:

OK, in looking at the photos a little longer, it appears that the sway bar is not an A-body bar. It's likely an F-body bar. These still work, but again, you need the shorter F-body end links.
