Repair on trunk weatherstrip channel

Ok body experts how would you attack this area? 1970 442 hardtop. I have a new square trunk lock catch that has a small piece of gutter on it that was cut off a donor car a long time ago, but can't find anyone that repops trunk channel. Is my only option metal fab work or does anyone know where I can get trunk channel?

I've done this repair many time over the years. What you need is a rear section out of a parts car. Then cut, fit and weld it into your car. Some place like desert dog or maybe someone on this forum could cut and sell you the section you need. ~BOB

If the piece doesn't work for bob I would be interested.

I think the AP is working on a 70 W-30. But I don't know if the channels are the same.
If he can't use it, I will get with you Greg.

Let me know if you can use it. I would take $75 + the ship.

The 69 part although similar would be different because of the different bumper and tail lights. Also the convertible, 4door and Supreme are also different from the "S" body style. A good body man could cut, hammer and weld a wrong one to fit. However your best bet is a part from a 70 - 72 "S" body. ~BOB

Thanks for the check on the 69 channel. I am trying to locate some 1970 channel. If I can't I will fall back to the 1969 stuff above or fab my own
