Re chroming is getting hard to come by, think there's a company in Oklahoma but do not remember name. Just bought a repop rear bumper for my "70 442 and it was $310.

bumper costs

Pricing will shock you. There was a thread on this last year.

For example my buddy had two bumpers re-chromed last summer for his 1969 442. The cost was $900 Canadian per bumper ($675 USD per).

Good luck

This s the LKQ hub in your city. LKQ owns a rechrome place in Brainard MN called North Star Plating
http://northstarplating.com/

You can drop your bumper at LKQ there in your town, they will truck it to North Star, rechrome it, bring it back for you to pick up where you dropped it off, no shipping charge. Checking it out is FREE with a phone call to them.

I had North Star do a few bumpers and they looked good, they were good to deal with. I used them more than once. But that was almost 20 years ago now.

Another one I have used and highly recommend is Tri City Plating in TN,

I used them about 9 years ago because they were closer and I was VERY pleased.

Don't use LKQ in Brainerd, MN. I had my bumpers on my 71 98 rechromed by Goodmark and their service was poor. The quality of the chrome is ok though, I would give it a B.

I suppose Goodmark, LKQ and North Star Plating are all affiliated. I have an invoice from Goodmark and LKQ. In the future if I have bumpers on another car rechromed I will go elsewhere.

I just called Chip at Tri City Plating, $525 a bumper with core.

I also called space coast plating near Melbourne and they are charging $1000/per (OMG).

I'll be pulling the trigger on these soon and will be going with tri city. he was super nice on the phone.
