W-25 Hood a bit flaky
I have an original W-25 hood that I plan on putting on my 72 Cutlass. It has already been painted, but unfortunately the idiot that did the job had a small shop and left my hood outside, upside-down in the elements. So now when I move the hood around I can hear loose scale rust sandwiched inside between the metal frame and the fiberglass.
I dread having this hood put on knowing that is in there.
Have any of you had this issue with one of these W-25 hoods.
Any input on a way to get this loose rust out of there without doing damage to the hood?
Thanks,
Doug

How long in the elements? You're in NC. So unless its been left out for 30 years its likely not rust just debris. Leave it alone. Unless you want to destroy an OEM hood trying to peel the frame out.

I guess I will have to live with it.

The fiberglass and metal frame can be disjointed and then reunited but best left to someone who has done this a few times!
Spend some time with a flexible air nozzle and a good air compressor, to blow it out.
