Can I roll on some dtm primer I have left over from my hvlp days?

I don’t see why not. Rolling on primer was a “thing” in numerous body shops but I don’t know if it was a fad or whether it has stuck with some of devotees. Little or no masking, no overspray, but likely a bit more sanding, preferably with a guide coat. I know of 2 shops that would set everything up late in the day, then someone would go and roll the primer on the cars. One of the shops had previously been using that setup but spraying them, downside being all the cars needed to be masked and bagged if anything of size was getting sprayed or the cars were packed in, like in winter. I remember being at a BASF school and primer was being rolled.

So if I picked up a half gallon of epoxy primer (1qt hardener and 1 primer) do I just mix it and apply with a small foam roller?
