Question about window gasket installation

So I have a 1947 Oldsmobile 76 fastback coupe with a rear window leak. I bought a new rubber rear window channel (essentially a piece of rubber weather strip with the ends fused together and some grooves/channels in it) from Fusick along with a bunch of weather stripping to fix various leaks.

I'm basically down to the Rear window channel rubber and I have a question before I start on this. Do I want to use some type of sealant between the rubber window channel and body and or between the window channel and glass, and if so do I want to use the same "3M Black Super Weatherstrip and Gasket Adhesive" 3M part number 08008 that I used on the trunk and door weather strips or something else (if so what product?).

The rear window on the fastback is almost a sunroof (especially with the previous owners front end lowering that I plan to undo) and water will pool at the bottom corners of the window.

A friend of mine who is in the glass business swears by this stuff. 3M auto bedding and glazing compound.

Thanks,
That was just what I needed to make my new rear window gasket seal properly.

I made a video about getting my car out of storage last Easter.
