1969 cutlass convertible chrome plastic trim clips
Does anybody know the gm part number for no’s nylon quarter trim clips? I looked at the assembly manual I found nothing, I know about the bolt on clips and the stud clips, I was following a thread so I bought was suppose to be no’s but they seem to hold the molding too far out? Is there any reproduction parts that really fit well? Stumped in south river
When I was putting my side moldings back on, I could not find any reproduction plastic clips that would work. I went thru 2 different kinds and neither worked and those clips were pricey. I ended up using the same type bolt on clips used on the front fenders. The original clips that were on the car would not hold.
Thanks Gary, there are a few spots I won’t be able to reach though in order to put on the nut, I can’t believe that there isn’t a quality original style clip that works
thanks doc I do have replacements but they seem to hold the molding too far away from the body, I looked at the fusick ones they seem a little different and at 4 bux a pop I’m interested to see the gold content lol but I’ll try them for the areas I can’t use the bolt type
They are too thick. I ran into the same thing. Measure the OEMs if you still have them?
When I restored my 68 Holiday I managed to find the right clips. They were blue. Made by J&T out of Syracuse NY. I think it still exists.

thank you , I am having an issue with the quarter peak molding the push in type I’ll see if I can get these for the doors and fenders , my car had no Oem moldings when I bought it , thus no clips at all
Any luck finding a GM part number for the nylon rear quarter trim fasteners. I'm at that stage with my 69 442 convert. I have a few originals but need about 20 more and want to avoid paying $4.00 a piece to Fusick or OPG. Thanks
