Power piston spring
Power piston spring
Hello,
I have an Olds 455 with a quadrajet that I am ready to rebuild (engine is fresh, carb is not). The engine has a Lunati Voodoo 262/268 cam and makes 16-17 in Hg at idle. Is this vacuum low enough to warrant a softer power piston spring? Carb is from a 68 Toro, if that makes a difference. I am lucky to break double digits in my '66 Toronado
Thanks.
Mikel

16-17 inches of Mercury should not be a problem, 10" is a bit low. You can feel if the power piston is down/ moving thru the vent tube.

Are you saying a Toro with a new engine won't go over 99 mph?
Timing issue? What is your ignition system?

Double digits MPG-wise. Engine runs fantastic and with all kinds of power. And I do drive it like a grandma most of the time.
Thanks.
