Engine expert advice

I put a new Electric fuel pump on the 455 this weekend .When I clicked on the ignition, to set the fuel psi on the regulator the psi spiked to 15 psi blowing past needle and seat filling my cylinders with fuel. Took all spark plugs out and cranked engine until all fuel was pushed out. Drained oil and refilled with new.. Now the question is... should I squirt oil in the cylinders before I start up? Or should I be fine. Concerned about "cylinder wash out". Or am I overreacting? Thanks.

Don't over think it. You mentioned you already cranked the engine over to evacuate the cylinders of fuel.

When you start it, plan on lots of black smoke until it’s cleared out. Depending on how long it sat with the engine filled with fuel you might consider changing the oil.

Already have the plugs out. Take advantage of being safe on the wash-down potential, squirt some oil into each cylinder, crank it a few turns, put the plugs in, then start it.
