Oil Pressure Switch Replacement
Oil Pressure Switch Replacement
This is being a real b*tch. Instructions say "unbolt alternator and swing to one side, remove switch".
If only it was that simple..... Do you guys have a special tool for this job or something ? There's no way any of my wrenches or socket heads will get in there to do the job. Even if i had a long enough socket to clear the spade connection, the gap between the switch and the engine casing would be far too small to slide the socket over!
c'mon, there must be a secret to this?

My Olds used the same special socket that fit my old Ford, so if there are Fords in England (most likely), maybe a local parts store will have one that fits...
Does anyone know WHY such a special shape was used? To keep people from pulling them out not knowing what they were?

I just did this today on my 307. It was definitely a PITA. I bought the socket for oil pressure sensor and it fit over the sensor, but not while it was attached to the engine block...ahhhhh! I ended up using a wrench to tighten it down. I got it mostly tightened, just a thread showing and can't get it to go any farther. It's not leaking and the light works fine so I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed.
