heat problem 455ci

Hi Everyone been along time: I need some answers I bought a 1976 olds Cutless S the 350 ci was removed and a 455ci installed when I got it it had 2 electric fans in plus a trans cooler. Everything was fine till it started getting warm weather, my temp. started to climb while driving and intraffic it would climb very fast. Now here is what I did so far took out the electric fans went back to mechanical fan, move the trans cooler to front of radiator, put a 160 thermostat in removed a 190,tryed new rad cap. Now I'm flushing the whole system Rad.and Block. There are very smart people on this site so if someone can help me out I would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks and have a great life!!!!!!!

Sounds like your going about it the proper way with a rad flush. What was the highest temp the car got to and with what thermostat. Does the car have air ? Is it a 2 row or 3 row?
If it has air you will have a full shroud if not just the little plastic piece over the top plate.

Since someone installed electric fans the factory shroud has probably been removed. If so, get one and that may help keep the temps where they should be.

Let's start with basics? What radiator is in the car? If it still has the original size radiator from the 350, that will not be adequate to cool the 455.
