Torn between two engines

Torn between two engines
Here's the deal:
I have 2 67 442's I'm doing over. One of them has the original drive train so it's a non-issue. The other came with a '68 350 in it and aside of a rap, was a very nice, strong engine. Pulled the engine, disassembled it and found 2 spun bearings. Machine shop said it would be cheaper to get a crank kit for it, which I found for around $200.00.
In the meantime, I got an E block, crank, lifters and some other stuff so I could put the correct engine in it.
I still need pistons, rods, cam, oil pan, valve covers, etc. and peripherals to make the 400 complete. I have heard some of the 350 parts (pistons?) will work in the 400 block.
The question? Do I make the 350 a runner to use between the two cars while doing them over then sell it, sell it as a great potential core, or scavenge it for parts for the 400?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul

400/425 rods are the same, 7.00". You can get stock ones or aftermarket.
Yes you can use a stock bore 350 piston, 4.057 and bore the 400 from it's standard 4.00 bore.
All Olds pans, valve covers etc have the same dimensions.
I say put the right motor back in it.
Jmo.

Oh, I have every intention of putting the 400 back in. I just didn't know if there were enough parts in the 350 to make it a donor engine, and from what you said, besides the pistons, it would make more sense for me to fix them both individually.
I'll just take my time finding the right stuff for the 400 and use the 350 to transport it until the time is right. Thanks for the input.

Not a lot from a 350 with a bad crank and used pistons is going to help an E-400.
Tin... distributor...
Go get the flat top "w31" type 350 pistons, THAT will revive a worn out E400.
Is the 350 worth redoing? Do you have a use for it?
I find them hard to sell.

I don't know, Octania. I figured it might be useful to me to throw into the cars so I could move them while I rebuilt their prospective engines. It was either that or try to use the 350 as a parts donor for one of the 400's. Now things may change. I was able to locate a set of rods and pistons for the new engine. It's not a tired engine. The block was magnufluxed and is in good stock bore condition. I would rather not have to send it out for unnecessary machine work. I'll just use the tin from the 350 and make the rest go away. Now I have to find a good nasty cam that will work for it in mostly stock form.
