Pulling a 455 with tranny

I am almost ready to pull a motor and a tranny together....I never did this before hence the questions. Do I need to drop the driveshaft or will the yolk pull straight out. the whole front clip is off the car including the rad so I have lots of room up front.

if you drop the shaft you will not have the mess of just pulling the yoke out.

If you plug the back of the tranny, you will have even less of a mess .
