Oil Filter Stuck

Well everyone, I went to change my oil after the break in time and now the stupid filter is seized on there. I tried everything. Even pulled the adapter off and put everything in a vice. Cut the filter off and tried tapping the end of with the filter holes. That thing is STUCK. Anyone have any suggestions or does maybe anyone have an extra oil filter adapter?

Thanks!
Wayne

Put some heat on it now that it is in the vise and it should come right off.

Thanks GA...I may have to take it somewhere as I do not have a torch. Go figure I just hope I didnt mess it up trying to take the filter off. I was careful of the mating surface to the block.

Whenever I have a stuck oil filter, I stab a big screwdriver through it and turn...never fails.

Yeah I tried with that after the 1st failed attempt. 3 holes later it was still stuck. I even took my pry bar to it and it would not even budge. I think paint got on the threads and it really stuck it on. I know I oiled the top of the filter before putting it on and I only put it on hand tight.

If you had wet isocyanurate paint on the threads, then you might as well have crazy-glued it on.

Heat will be your friend here. Go out and drop $20 on a Bernz-O-Matic torch. You'll be glad you did.

My MAPP torch is the best thing I got out of plumbing for 5 years...works like a charm.
