I did take the OAI air cleaner I saw in the garage when I picked up the car because I wasn't sure which one was original, the one on the car now or the one sitting there in the box. Is there any way I can tell which one belongs on the car? Both seem to be in average condition for the age...both missing the top flapper part, maybe still in the garage somewhere.

That's what I did. I have both of them...but I'm unsure how to tell which one belongs to this car. Is there a way to tell? I will probably just sell the other one because this project isn't funding itself, unfortunately. HA!

 

Here are the pics of what I could find: The clean one is the one that is currently on the car. The dirty one was the extra one from the garage.

 

Also, if anyone can enlighten me as to why he decided to keep the flapper off, I'd appreciate it. What kind of difference can I expect without this part? Or should I get it back on there?
