Need Timing pointer for ATI balancer please
Need Timing pointer for ATI balancer please
Hi Folks,
I have an ATI Super Dampner for my 455 build and I understand that I will not be able to use the factory timing piece that sits up against the timing cover because of the OD of the new ATI unit. I tried buying a custom pointer from Bill Trovato but he doesn't have any left. Any suggestions on where I can buy one that will work please?
Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Like cutlassefi said... you can buy a repro timing pointer for a 425 crank (is metal, has notches) and once you find TDC/zero, you can cut the timing pointer to indicate where that is. See attached picture of finished pointer, obviously not at zero but you can see the pointer cut.
Thanks Guys for all of the responses!
Instead of buying a repro timing pointer for a 425 crank, I may know someone that has a factory one sitting in his yard with about 150 other Olds big blocks (AKA- "free"). I assume there is no issue with using a factory piece and modifying it accordingly?
Thanks again!
