Intake Manifold Question

Okay - I'll admit, I am being totally lazy because I am sure I could search on the forums here and find the answer.

I have a 71 Cutlass / 455 motor - I kept the 350 frame mounts and 350 engine mounts.

I wanted to switch from an Edelbrock Performer to the Torker, but was concerned with the hood clearance. I thought because with those mounts the engine sat a bit higher, and the Torker is an inch taller than the performer manifold it may not clear the hood. A friend told me it should be fine, but thought I would check here with people that actually have experience.

Thanks...Tim

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Once again, the crank centerline is in EXACTLY the same place so long as the rubber mounts match the frame pads.

I have the same set up you are describing.

You'll be just fine and still have room. Stock air cleaner and a generic chrome air cleaner have both fit fine.

I have a Port O sonic I would trade for your Performer. maybe someone here can shed some light on the Offenhauser port O sonic verses the Torker. Thanks

What's your combination? Gear, Compression, etc.

Yea, definitely will need to be addressed at some point. I have never gotten the Performer to seal well and was going to make another attempt. Then I saw someone with a used Torker fairly priced so thought it may be fun to try it.

I doubt the Torker will be a good match to that axle ratio.

Torker is a bad choice. Get the Performer to seal and you'll be happier.

I've deleted the off-topic posts. That was not fair to the OP and I apologize for letting it get to that point. Carry on with your thread.

Tim, you've got the A-team working for you in this thread. I've never gone wrong unless I don't listen to them. Just sayin....
