Intake ideas
Intake ideas
Now that the tunnel ram is off I'm looking for something better with just one carb. I'm not looking for a daily driver by any means, I don't run pump gas. I'll drive it to work at times and car shows but that's about it. I'd take it to MIR but my Parkinson's would interfere with that.
What I'm guessing is either a Torker, RPM Air-Gap or Victor (Cool looking but no street manners). A Holley or Quickfuel 850ish carb. Three totally different intakes but not sure if ones not enough or too much. Just looking for advice. I've searched the site but nothing jumps out. Thanks.

I found the shootout intake. I was looking at something different before.

Well I ended up just putting a Torker on and running my Comp series 750 which was NOS, not any more. I changed the gaskets and re-jetted. Time to replace my hood with one that has a cowl. I have a cowl scoop but my fiberglass skills leave something to be desired. The engine could use a bigger carburetor but until I sell my old set-up this will work.

I did make it sound like the Torker was a bad choice. The cheapest route not including ProComps. The spacer was something I had and will try it out. If my original hood was not in need of repair I'd use it but I like the cowl hoods from VFN. I've butchered this hood enough. I'm just playing around, a Holley is in the future maybe even a different manifold and cam etc. I haven't taken it out on the main roads yet but the throttle response around the neighborhood is so much better than with the TR I had on which is no surprise.
