High oil pressure oil shooting from dipstick tube
High oil pressure oil shooting from dipstick tube
I just put a 455 out of a toronado in my 71 88. The motor ran great in the toro. When the motor was out I replaced the timing chain and oil pan to a normal 5qt and changed the pickup for the pump of course. Now the motor is idling with 50 psi of oil pressure and is shooting oil out of the dipstick tube but it's still running strong. I'm stumped. Really don't think it's blow by.
I drained the oil yesterday and took out my leaky heater core. The oil was milky like there is coolant in it I recently did the intake gasket and im thinking it didn't seal. Maybe the water in my oil is the cause of high pressure? Motor still started right up and its 5 degrees where I'm at
Figured it out and it runs good! Problem was that I left the toro baffles that bolt on the mains in the motor and switched to a normal pan. After removing the baffles meant for the toro pan the problem is solved. And I fixed the water issue with a new turkey tray.
