Hello,

I need some help whit finding out what engine i got.
It was sitting in an Oldsmobil -58 that i got, on the back of the engine i found the number 574865-4 and on the left cylinder head i found G 392920.
I was told that it should be an 371 but i dont think it is that.
I have a another Olds -58 whit 371 and that one looks diffrent than this one.

 

My Engine rebuilders software say 1957- 1960 371 for that block casting number

 

Okey, but on the nuts to the valve cover on 371 is only on top of the cover and on this one its around the cover.
on my second Super 88 -58 whit the 371 its on top and the manifold is diffrent.
