Dumb question of the day!

First Oldsmobile I've ever owned, always been Chevys up to this point. OK, here's goes, what is the 1/8 npt hole on the flat behind the water pump, oil pressure maybe? Thanks again. Slowly getting it together.

Yes from what you describe, it's the oil pressure port.

You'll know for certain if you leave the plug out and start the motor.
