Does this machinist work look right????

The build sheet attached is what the machine & race shop gave me. The motor and parts are in another reputable machine shop for a double check of the work. I get the motor and results back next Friday but i'm curious to hear from someone who has the experience and can point anything out for me while i wait. Thank you all....

I do not see what the rod and main bearing clearances are. Is this a stock rebuild?

You posted this before, so I'll respond the same way, too many mistakes to mention.
This would scare me. Plus unless you're going to spin it higher than 5500 or so regularly there's no need to overbalance it. You may want to ask him why he's doing that on a street build.

My dimensions show a main bearing bore to be 3.189 which means you have about .0006 less clearance to start with on the mains. I show main bearing bores with bearings installed to be 3.0023 - .0006 = 3.0017 - 2.99 (standard 3.00 journal - .010) = .0117 Add a .01 under bearing gives you a clearance of .0017, which I find to be tight.

The rod bores are tight by .0002, 2.625 - 2.6248 = .0002. That makes your rod dimension with bearing to be 2.5008 - .01 = 2.4908 - 2.4902 = .00006 which is also tight for rod clearance.

Most all factory Olds specs fall into the .002 to .0025 range for rods and mains. This is why I think it's tight for his dimensions.

Piston bore of 4.155 - 4.151 (piston diameter) = .004 not .0045. Unless he rounded stuff off here

Someone verify my math here.

3.1884 is in the middle, it calls for 3.188-3.189.
He doesn't have the thickness of the bearing halves listed so there's no way to know what the actual clearance is. And he rounded the journal size, I doubt it's exactly 2.990.
And he has .985 of wrist pin clearance? I'd run the other way, his attention to detail leaves a bit to be desired. If that shows up here, what is his work like?

Run the other way. Jmo

The short block is pretty much stock with forged flat top pistons, ARP
rod bolts and ARP main studs, custom cam I bought from CutlassEFI. Everything else is edelbrock heads and RPM air gap intake, and carb. I ran out of money but if I tear it down in the future I'll get the eagle crank and rods. My machinist at the race shop recomended me to install NOS.
