Differences in radiators.

I have a very thin radiator from my parts lot I got recently. I think it may be a 2 core, or maybe a 3.

My 442 is running a replacement autozone one now, and if I wanted to go to stock, are the end tanks the same for all the 67 radiators? As in, could I ave the end tanks taken off of this thin one and made into a new 4 core that looks correct? Or, am I better just looking for a 4 core to rebuild?

Thanks.

Back when I did cars for a living, brass end tanks were almost always re-used when doing a radiator core replacement. Tanks are generally wider than the core so they will accept a two three or most times a four row core. That being said, are you sure you need a 4 row?

Well, more cores are nicer, I guess.

But, it's a 442, 67, automatic, A/C. Has a 4 blade fan, don't think it has a clutch.
Had a busted fan shroud, which I have replaced. Factory, I think, except for cam.

I believe A/C required heavy duty cooling option, but that says, per oldsmobility.com,
"Includes heavy-duty radiator and water pump, Thermo-Cool engine fan and Delcotron. Included in C60" where C60 is AC. I don't know what a Thermo-Cool engine fan or a delcotron is.

A Thermo-Cool fan is a clutch fan.
A Delcotron is an alternator.

A/C cars had a three- or four-core radiator, a fan clutch, a six (or maybe seven) blade fan, a fan shroud, and a higher-output alternator, among other things.

I would recommend against under-cooling your car.

2 tube and 3 tube radiators have smaller tanks than 4 tube on crossflow radiators.Core is the center part the tanks attach to.

Ok. Thanks for info. I shall not undercool the car, and will look at the fan more closely, with a picture, soon. I wish I had remembered to do it yesterday when I was fleeing hoodlums with it.
