Engine bolt question
Engine bolt question
I was going through all my service manual, engine assembly manual.
Most I found was it wants you to dip bolts in oil for helping with torque specs
Are there any bolts for a 455 engine that require loctite or sealer, or you would recommend put on?

good call Joe
The distributor clamp bolt also goes thru, but into a cavity that won't leak so that's not an issue.
The tstat housing bolts are the main concern.
Form-a-gasket #2 non-hardening is my suggestion.
There is one bolt that goes into the intake also, Left of the carb and fwd a bit, where the dashpot goes sometimes. It's just sealing vacuum though so as long as any bolt is in there that should be OK.

[I almost said that with a straight face, too!]
Did you spill vacuum all over the engine?
