Aluminum radiators

I have a 71 cutlass conv.
just finished a rebuild of the 350 and it runs a little hot when running at high rpm.
so I was thinking of putting in an aluminum radiator.
has anyone installed one and what brand fits good?

We have a 71 Skylark with a 355 SBO and I used an inexpensive new radiator that fits a GMC van. I just looked and there is no part number, but it cost like $140, cools great, fit with minor tweaking. It does have the plastic tanks that some guys don't like.

I actually bought one that was a direct fit for my 66 Delta on ebay for less than $200. It seems to be well constructed, I don't normally trust ebay sellers, but it was the only place I could find it. Definitely cools great.

Does your Cutlass have a fan shroud? If not, this can contribute to overheating.

My '71 Cutlass SX convertible has an auxillary electric fan which works well in the Arizona heat. Make sure the cap and thermostat are in good shape too.

Yes i have a fan shroud. new clutch fan. thremostat is new 180.
It will idle all day around 185. I just think the coolent is moving too fast thru the radiator. That is why I am thinking or going aluminum
