Cam help

Cam help

I need help choosing a cam for my engine since I have little to no knowledge about them.

What im looking for is the engine to be a weekend/good day - drag/driver/fun

my setup so far:

-M22 trans.
~455bb bored .030
-E heads - Exhaust 1.624; Intake 2.063
-Pistons - ICON UEM-IC886KTD-030
-Stock "N" Crank

"subject to change" still to get setups:

-Edelbrock 2151 Intake

you'll have to clarify for me this is my first build,

I will be going with headers if that's what your asking.

Are you talking about the trans gear, or rear end?

I'm basically trying to get it 400hp and up, not sure what a good idle rpm would be for street/drag.

as you can see im clueless

Yes, rear gear.
Good, you stated your hp goals.

I'd do an Erson TQ50 hyd flat tappet cam. 228/235@.050 with .504 lift on both. That would give you a noticeable idle, great midrange power and work well with either the stock or aftermarket valvetrain.
