Bourbon & Beer = dumb mistake

Too much beer and bourbon can be a bad thing. yup, I think I stuck my intake gaskets on wrong side up. I did a cam swap in the 455 in my 64 last Saturday with a couple friends helping(BS & drinking) I was solid during the important stuff but twords the end of the evening we were tuned up. It ran great for cam break in and during the post break in cool down and tune.

I went to my shop yesterday to move the cutlass and it was popping and farting to beat the band. No moisture under the cap, firing order in order. I started spraing here and there for a vacuum leak but couldnt locate one. I do believe that its internal, leaking at the bottom of the intake runner to head at the valley. I used Mr.Gasket intake gaskets.

I have found it helpful to drink or do something else. Never drink and try to do anything but drink.

I sure learned not to cut carpet when drinking...
However I am sure it was the alky that made me think of using dynamat to adhere it back together...

You just thought it looked and sounded great with your beer goggles and ears on.
Drinking is usually done after you're done working unless you're a priest.
What do you have to look forward to otherwise?

note to self

Avoid Rob while drinking.

Na, it was good , she would chirp tight belts at the blip of the throttle, tires too. I think the heat cycle + oil saturation then the cold start made it rear its ugly head. I just got lucky it didnt happen during that evenings fun. We would have over diagnosed it into somthing way way off track.

Ususaly good wrenching with some tasty beverages but there is a line. It was crossed.
