Big Block Info
#3
Are you sure the VIN derivative is 33Mxxxxxx and not 38Mxxxxxx? The former would indicate a 1973 block, the latter a 1968 block.
#5
I recently purchased a 455 VIN derivatives 33M101455
=========================
3 = Olds
_3 = 1973
__M = Lansing Asm. Plant
___101455 = sequential # of the car, #1455 off the line probably, very early.
68f4 behind flywheel
===================
Utterly meaningless. Disregard. Seriously.
396021F The F is sans serif
================
Any 455 pretty much. No new info here.
E heads 403686
==============
1970 issue exc. W30
May have big valves, probably not.
Any indications of Tornado-ness? Angled oil filter mount, funny looking oil pan?
Sunken low intake?
39736 crank
================
They often machine away the last digit for balancing. The correct number is
397363. Photos exist showing this. No new info here either.
Are all these from the same engine, or a mix of years?
===============
So far, I get "mixture"
Sounds like a fine mixture of parts.
Plans for it?
