Back again

Ok so let me start by saying I’m new to this olds world. I have a 59 station wagon with a 425 bbo that is supposed to be out of a 66 model car. I know nothing about the motor other than it has been converted to a hei distributor and I have put an Edelbrock performer intake and a 750 Holley carb on it. I’m going to put 2.5” dual exhaust on it with a single chamber muffler on both sides. I would love to put a healthy sounding cam in it. It will not be a race car by no means strictly cruise ins and a few 100 mile or less cruises. Any help to figure out what motor I have and what I need to change would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome back. I recall your previous introduction thread. Such a cool Oldsmobile.

For those that don't remember:

If it really is out of a 1966, you may have a 45 degree cam angle. Newer Olds used a 39 degree cam angle. A cam for that would need to be special ordered (not off the shelf). Also if from a Toronado it can have different lifters than most Olds motors. You need first to check the engine and then can order the appropriate parts.
