Hello all,

I am looking for the correct carburetor for my 71 442 W30 4 speed car. The service manual says the carburetor should be 7041256, but from what I've heard Oldsmobile did not release this carburetor and used the 7041253 on the 4 speed cars. Can anyone confirm which is correct?

 

My book show nothing about #7041253 used on a W30.

 

What book are you referring to? The 71 Service manual shows 71 W30 4 speed (Engine TS, TB) using carburetor 7041256, but I have talked to several people who say that this carburetor was never used and that the 71 W30 4 speed cars got the 7041253 carburetor. With all the swapping of parts going on in 1971 because of the strike not sure what to believe. Surely someone on the site has an original W30 4 speed car who would comment here???
