I recently bought some new color stripped hoses to replace vacuum lines. I am stumped on one of the hoses. I do have the olds book that shows the layout location (page 404414). Most of you have done this know what page I;m taking about. The house is question is the hose that goes to the modulator vacuum? This house connects (5.5 inch long) to the T connector which connects to the the T.V.S which connects to the manifold vacuum. I cant figure where to connect the hose that is suppose to go to the modulator vacuum. What is this and where is it located.

I even looked at the ram air cleaner set up diagram to see if it showed on this and nothing can be seen.

I am stumped.

The hose for the modulator attaches to a steel pipe which lies along the top of the right-side valve cover and runs down to the modulator on the transmission (where it is attached to the modulator with a very short hose). See section 7 page 115 of the Product Information Manual. It doesn't show the 5.5" hose, but it does show the steel pipe.

thanks for the tip, I'll look for this. Currently I dont have the steel pipe running from trans. When I was judging at the olds national in WI last month, I dont remember seeing any 70 442 W30 with this as well.

Every Olds with a TH350 or TH400 has the steel pipe. It's thinner than a vacuum hose, because the ends fit inside a vacuum hose.
